Info 652 Project: first thoughts
I need to find a good hobby to talk about during job interviews, meeting the parents of a significant other, random people on the subway, overly forward women in public restrooms, but I think I would like to create a site on shopping! In particular, thrift shopping and flea markets in Philadelphia. Some sites like this already exist but are mostly lists, and I would like to create a more comprehensive guide including reviews and maps. I think current residents, college students, and visitors to the city may possibly maybe find a guide like this interesting and helpful.

I think the Philly flea market idea is great. I love discovering new things about Philly and I think you may have a larger web audience than you think.
I also think this is a good idea! And would probably be a fun site to make. Personally I like to go to random church thrifts stores out in the burbs. Also there are good cheap ones in Kensington...
I think adding reviews to flea market sites would be really helpful. There are a lot of crummy ones out there that people would rather not waste their time on. Also, suggestions on where to eat nearby is a great idea...works up an appetite.
I agree with the previous posters. The idea of a map is great; potential shoppers could plan the best route to visit the most shops on one trip! A map would also be useful to college students, many of whom might be new to the city.
